  • Removable Dash and Window Frames

What I do: The parts are soda blasted to bare metal and completely sealed with epoxy primer. I then apply a top quality fill primer and glaze if necessary and block sand it straight and smooth. A base paint is applied and then the graining and toning. Finally it is clear coated with a top quality urethane which is color sanded and buffed.

Dash stripped of gauges and trim $1,800 to $2,000 (includes ashtray, gauges bezel, glove box, rear seat ashtrays, and back of rear view mirror if desired.)

Window frames (garnish moldings) $300 each. (Windshield molding counts as 1 if split and wing window posts included with the front door window frames.)

There will be additional charges for body work due to severe rust or damage and to remove any parts such as stainless steel trim, switches, etc from the dash or frames.

  • For Non-Removable Dash

There are some cars and trucks in which the dashboards are not removable, e.g 1939 and earlier Chevrolets (other GM cars of those years like Pontiac, Buick, Olds are removable).

In order to woodgrain these cars, I will need to grain the dash in the car at my place of work. If your car’s paint and interior are finished my charge for prepping is $1,000. This is in addition to the charges above for the dash.

Frames: $300 each or $175 if ready to paint.

  • Pre-Prepped -- Paint, Grain, & Clear Only

If the dash is brought to me ready to paint $800 to $1,000.

Window frames ready to paint $175 each.

Includes all the little bits described above.

  • Steering Wheels/Columns & Other

Steering Wheel restoration, painting and/or woodgraining minimum of $250.

Steering Column (removed) $300 to wood grain and $150 to paint..

Additional charge for significant cracks or damage in the steering wheel. I don’t do reboning or major repair on steering wheels.

  • Exterior - Tin Woodies

I am not an auto body or paint shop and not set up to do body work. It would be better to have any body work done before you bring it to me for woodgraining. Right now I am estimating a price of $8,000 to $10,000 to do a tin woodie.

  • Other

If you can paint it, I can grain it. Metal, plastic, wood, fiberglass…

I’ve done a kiddie boat ride, 50’s Stoner candy machine, bicycles, file cabinets, Yeti travel mug, and more.
